"Huh? What side?" K had expected her to leave her stuff where they just entered.

"Oh. THAT side." K looked at the other end of the pool, probably a good 20 to 30 metres away, covered in shimmering water, reflecting the bright Christmas lights.

"Okay." He waded in after her.

Went to watch Yes Man today. Was quite a nice movie. Woke up in the afternoon, then left the house to go down to her place. While downstairs, I stood under a tree and heard a disturbing splat. Looking up, I saw a tree of pigeons. No, not a tree with pigeons. It was a pigeon tree. On every single branch I saw were multiple pigeons, sitting 1-2 feet from each other. I immediately decided standing under the tree was not such a good idea.

Went up for a while, she says I was demolishing her house. Lol. I shall be more careful then. I kept bumping into stuff. =X Went down to Vivo, bought tix, and went to get popcorn. She got her Moo Moo from the Super Jumbo Combo Meal. o_O She was so happy with it. =P Yes Man was pretty nice movie. =) Quite interesting and positive.




Went to the sky deck to take lots and lots of pics of the sunset. Then we went down for dinner. Went up again to play in to pool. In the spirit of Yes Man I went in too. Lol! Just rolled up my jeans. Was quite fun. =P Took a lot of pics in the roof pools and trekked across them. After that just waited for my feet to dry and went back in. =P

Didn't do much today. Woke up at 2. Had lunch, watched TV from 3 till 5. Went online, amused myself with Word challenge. Cleared out all the old books from my bookshelf. Think I'll watch my Nightmare before Christmas DVD. NUS sent me a holiday E-card. How nice of them. =) I feel so special. Lol. Maybe I can go out tomorrow! =D

Didn't do much today. Stayed at home, was online since the afternoon. MSNed quite a bit, FBed later on, until I can't think of anything else to do. I even added Word Challenge just for fun. =.= Though I think I won't play it much. Lol. Maybe I shall go watch a DVD. I hope tomorrow is more eventful.

I had a really fun time today! But, I didn't bring my camera. DAMN. =[ I didn't think of it! =[ Crap. I shall remind myself to bring next time. I only thought of it when I reached. Woke up in the morning, ate a bit. Went with my sis down to Yew Tee. My other cousins were late. =\ Only spent a little time with them because　I had to go meet up with the Ms.

Went up, ate some stuff. Our grandma kept insisting we eat. Lol. Then played a new card game. Quite fun. Left at 445 to go Vivo. Met up with Taky and her friend Chris. Ben and Rainnie arrived 1hr 5 mins late. Haha! Tsk. Val arrived at 8 plus. Chris left when we went to queue. Waited for a while to get in. Dinner was quite nice. Had a lot of fun chatting. A lot of funny stuff happened. =P

Haven't had so much fun for a while. Everyone was damn happy. =) Wish XW had gone too though. =( Talked a lot, and laughed even more. =D Then we exchanged presents after dinner. Ben wrapped all of ours in masking tape...typical Ben. Lol! Val got us all mugs. I got a zombie PSP game from Ben. =P Looks fun. I brought something interesting. Chocolate spoons! Cool right? Ben started playing table tennis with masking tape and his spoon. They asked me not to buy any more chocolate utensils for him. Lol!

I got val a voodoo doll to be used on future boyfriends (All guys out there better treat her well =P), $20 for Ben's ipod fund, and Twilight for Taky. She was over the moon. =P XW gift...wait till she gets it till I reveal. We saved a chocolate spoon for her! Taky also received Tuesdays with Morrie from Ben. =P Took quite a few pics, and also with the X'mas tree. Rar. Shall remember to bring my camera next time. =(

Did nothing much today. Watched Ultraviolet today. Watched it before, nothing fantastic, but just decided to do so. Spent the whole day online on MSN, and on Facebook. Lol. Battle Stations is fun. In one session I made enough money to buy all the stuff I need for the next few levels above me. =P Can start saving up now. Nothing else ba. Going out tml. =)

It's raining again...

K opened the door of the office, and looked out. It was still raining. Thousands of ripples pulsed across the inky blackness of the parade square.

"It's still raining." He stepped back in to grab his jacket. Slipping it on, he walked downstairs. Zipping it all the way up, he surveyed the liquid blackness before him. Taking one last look at the sky, he pulled the hood low over his head and stepped out into the rain.


Here is a much better representative of our chalet as promised, since the previous one was not well received. Haha!

Duty was boring. I just stoned for most of the day in addition to doing all the usual duty stuff. Ugh. This must be what one of Santa's foreign workers elves must feel like on Christmas day. Totally dead and soulless, collapsed on a pile of wood chips and sawdust.

Was raining almost non-stop. X'mas eve lunch was absolutely horrible. After the previous turkey dinner they just gave up or something. Ugh. Listened to the radio for hours yest. Then in the evening sat in the chair and channel surfed. =.= And tried my hand at modern art by twisting the various appendages of the TV antenna into 3269045 different configurations just to get a clear signal for Ch5/8/Okto. I did that every time I changed a channel. Lol.

Slept a little. Couldn't wait to leave. Haha. Got a lift home. =D I wanna drive. =X As soon as I got home, I showered, unpacked, ate a little and crashed. Woke up feeling absolutely great. Nothing beats sleeping at home. Sigh. Lol. Went to my aunt's place, had lunch, talked, collected presents. Went home and out after to meet Rainnie.

Went to eHub, bought some food and walked over to ECP. It was good. =) $3.50 and $1.80 later I was full. Saved $. Walked to White Sands then dropped by her home because apparently her mum hadn't seen me before. Haha! Watched a little TV, went home. Don't know what to do tomorrow. Rar.

Rough conversation between me and our favourite commissioned hamster Nat. =] Oh well...at least I get 1 off because of that...

Did nothing. Some area cleaning. Reported sick for foot rot. Ugh. It got worse yest. MO gave me a tube of medication. Bought some remaining stuff for my field pack. Nothing else. Oh lunch today was amazing. Turkey. Turkey. I didn't expect that either. Lol. Not bad at all. Quite good. =P

Didn't do much today. Ran 2k. Had field pack inspection. I squeezed my uniform and pants and 2 pairs of socks into a tiny ziploc bag slightly smaller than a sheet of A4 paper. and I folded it such that my name, "SINGAPORE", my CBR badge, engineer formation badge, 3SG rank and collar badge can be seen from the outside. I am proud of myself. =D It was quite a fun, intellectually stimulating challenge that ended up looking pretty cool.

We watched an Alpha VS Bravo soccer match, which we won 2-1 as the Away team. =P Alpha scored early on, but we came back with 2 more. Then celebrated X'mas in the office which was pretty fun. Never expected something like that. Things have really come a long way since April 11. I still remember my first day...

Anyway we had the gift exchange thing going, and some food to share. Lots of people bought chocolate. We should ban it next year, then the creative streak in people will start to show, hopefully resulting in more interesting gifts. I got a big box of Merci chocolate. My raisins were a riot. Haha. Pretty funny. And noone could guess it. Big, heavy parcel, irregularly shaped. I've got duty on New Year's Day. Well at least I get one day off out of it, PLUS most celebrations are on New Year's Eve, so NYD is one of the best days to get duty. Just hope Bravo doesn't get a hung-over CDS the next day. LOL.

So I'll hand over duty and head over to Wild Wild Wet I guess. Hmm. I think they MUST know I've worked in a call centre before I came in. I've got NYD and Xmas eve covered. So...I can greet callers with Merry X'mas, Bravo Office(did that once today), and Happy New Year, Bravo Office! I automatically put on my 'happy' voice out of habit. LOL.

On the bright side, as compensation for my 1st of Jan, I don't burn my weekends next month, and I don't have 3 duties, so it's not too bad after all. Plus, 1 day off! =D Merry X'mas to all! I've got everyones' present already, but I'm still not sure what I want. Maybe we can take a stab at what I didn't get for my birthday, that stupid set of speakers from Creative. Haven't settled that yet. Thing is there's no official documentation I can rely on. =S

Didn't do much today...just stayed at home and watched a stack of old DVDs I forgot my friend lent me. Watched Fight Club and Dragon Tiger Gate. Fight Club was bloody good. (Pun intended.) Quite a really interesting movie to watch. Ought to borrow the book for a read. Very unique plot. It is as crazy as it is good.

Dragon Tiger Gate was alright, typical action flick. Nothing much happened today I guess. I discovered I can take the 10:20pm bus and make it into camp. Which means I can leave the house at 10:10. Yay! =P Go there and sleep in my terrorist hideout. Why? Because when we came, one of the old specs had draped blankets around his bed to shield him from the light. And while sleeping, I realised there are no less than 3 spotlights (that must be on) that are shining towards me. I got so irritated one night I just hung my towel on the Grid, positioned my t-shirt just right, and created my own hideaway. Hanging another towel over the window blocks the morning sun and channels the wind downward to me. =] Maybe I will turn into a creature of the night. Ha-ha.

Will probably report sick for my blocked nose tomorrow...not sleeping well the past few nights. Anyway, here's a nice pic from the chalet. Besides, I think all those concerned will already have seen the photos on Facebook, so I shan't blog much about it. Basically we just went bowling and had a little BBQ. =)

"$12 for gift exchange...need to spend money again..." K grumbled as he strode down the aisles of Cold Storage Sengkang.

"What should I get?..." He stopped at a likely prospect.

"$4.50" The sign said. It was for a large tub of Sunmaid raisins. He grabbed one and tossed it into the basket.

"Hmmm..."

He looked up again and grabbed another tub. Into the basket it went.

"4.50+4.50= 9 dollars. 3 dollars more..." He mused as he scanned the shelves.

Something caught his eye. "Sunmaid raisins 6's," The sign proclaimed. "$3.05" The price tag screamed. He grabbed the half-dozen boxes of raisins and tossed it into the basket too.

"Whoever gets this, I hope they like raisins. A lot." He had to suppress his grin as the absurdity of his gift. Lest the public think he were a madman with a soft spot for mushy, wrinkly dehydrated fruit.

K stepped into the storeroom. "Wrapping paper, wrapping paper..." There it was, perched high on a shelf. He found a comfortable step and climbed on, reaching out...there. Holding its end, he pulled the entire bag outwards, not downwards, so the wrapping paper would come OUT, and not DOWN onto him.

Just as the end of the bag left the shelf, it pivoted down, following the laws of a chap named Newton with too much time on his hands, and promptly smacked him on the face, leaving him with a tingling nose.

Nothing much today. Went out to vivo, got some more shopping done. Maybe will go out tomorrow. Just stoned quite a bit at home, that's all. Oh yeah, met with Val at vivo. She noticed we always meet at all the random places outside. Lol. First I met her on chalet with my family when she came to watch a movie, and now, at vivo after she was watching another movie.

Leaning back in his chair, cutting out little squares of plastic, Tommy asked: "I wonder what mothballs do..."

"Tommy. Say that word again." Jann shot back at him, while placing the mothballs into the squares that had been stapled into small pouches.

"What? Mothballs?"

"The word before balls?"

"Moth?"

"Do you know how they make mothballs? They get a huge bunch of moths and pluck their balls off. Each moth got 2 balls." Benmin interrupted. He was met with a bunch of =.= expressions all round.

"What do they do to moths? Kill them?"

"I thought they dintegrate and turn into gas, sublime or something like that?" Someone interjected.

Walking back to them after placing the mothball packets on the shelves, K stated matter-of-factly, "Nooo...The mothballs are there to provide the moths something to eat so they don't eat the stuff on the shelves." He finished, deadpan.

Everyone had a big WTF look on their face. He grinned. "See my logic?", as everyone burst into laughter.

In the corner observing them, the CSM shook his head. "I'm going to get a concussion from all of you."

Back home. Was goin to go Powerhouse today with Val and Tak, but Tak's not feeling well, so it's off. Originally my other friends were watching movie today, but I told them I was busy, and I think they've booked the tix le. So I pretty much got nowhere to go. I was in such a going-out mood. =[ Oh well. I wanted to drop by her house to visit, but her roommate returned. =\ Maybe Sunday then. Get well soon!

Anyway nothing much else today. Set up the stores a little late, but everything ran all right. Did some tidying up of the stores today. Nothing much else. At least we got to book out early today despite the seemingly neverending stream of saikang Lol.

Hey, I'm back on nights out. Need to pack my field pack. There's something up. Lol. I just hope they don't ji siao me on Jan 10th, cos it's my dad's birthday. Chances are, they will cos it's a Saturday. =.= Oh well. Hmm, nothing much interesting today. I'm store IC for tomorrow, need to prepare stuff for the 5k run. Zzz. At least tomorrow is Friday. =]

Life is...starting to get boring. I hope for something to come along and inject some fun in. =/ Powerhouse tml? Haha. So far my quest to save money is still...okay. Only spent like $8 so far. On food. But I need to return my friend another $8. And powerhouse...is another thing. =S

Nothing much. Was on duty today. Rar. Read magazines in the office. Y'know, sorta like waiting for the phone to ring thing. The rest went for nights out, then came back and watched TV till 12. =.= I had to get up at 5 you know, so the CDS can raise the flag. We slept till 525. Lol.

Finally got off duty this morning, and rested till lunch. Came down to mess. Seems like it's been a really long week, even though it's only Wed afternoon. Must be because I spent the entire day in the office yest. Anyways, 27th going for a post-Xmas dinner with Ben and Val and Rainnie and XW. Dunno bout Tak though. =S Maybe get a little gift exchange thing going. Haha. And 2nd Jan we're going to use my Wild Wild Wet tix. Anyway, tak, u sure you can't go for anything after 29th? Val said your holiday's till like 12 or something. =S

I dunno about this week's powerhouse. There are some things I have yet to settle. I'll deal with them first. Sigh. Part of me still wants to go. And I'll be spending the 24th on duty, so I'll be welcoming X'mas in the company office. And NO, the office doesn't have a chimney, so no presents there either. Besides, any errant airborne sleigh (reindeer-propelled or otherwise) would no sooner enter Seletar camp than get taken out by jets scrambled form the nearby Seletar airbase. Haha.

Oh wells, I shall spent Christmas eve calling my friends to wish them a merry X'mas and maybe belt some carols out over the phone. LOL.

Hey I'm back. This is amusing. I was on Facebook reading all the updates and stuff, and it seems there's been a spate of bad luck going around, and everyone's screwed up. And I noticed the radio was playing "Why does it always rain on me?". With reference to my previous line of "It never rains but it pours," I felt this was so ironic I had to laugh.

I kept on reading, and it's good to see some of us are still holding up well. Which is good. Among all the negative emotion going around, there have to be a few still standing, so we can help those who've fallen. The radio was playing "Just Stand Up". How apt. Read the lyrics. I'm quite alright, so there's nothing to worry about. Still getting by.

I'm past that phase already, or so I think. But either way I can't let myself slip now. Now, there's a reason for me to just keep going on. One, people are counting on me. Two, it's not gonna help. Three, no one else can either. This thing made me think of signing on with the army. And when something makes one of your friends even consider signing on, you know some deep shit is going down.

But that will be a last ditch effort. I still have a place in uni. Maybe we can make it out. Maybe it's not as bad as it seems. All I know that I've had a bad feeling about this, and it's been hanging over me nonstop. I keep walking on under the rain.

Looks like there's not going to be a blog post about the chalet after all. I have more to say, but I gotta go.

Did I mention the radio was playing Bad Day later on? It seems to be very much in tune with the general mood today. Lol.

Back. Anyway, a little about yesterday night. Zoukout was fun, I guess. We didn't hit the beach in the end because it was raining. Stayed at Starbucks with Val and Ben and Rainnie. Then went down at 30 to get lockers. Walked around a bit, tried the bungee thing. Fun. Then met with YM and Siwei. They tried it too, and came back dizzy. Lol! Then we went to play Rock Band 2. Val said it was fun too. =P Heheh. We got the staff to take pics for us. =P

Then went to Vivo to watch Twilight and had Carl's Jr. Went back, and just had fun till 5am. Thing is the good songs came on after we left! Rar. =[ Should've stayed on a little longer. Going there was interesting. We took the crazy train. All the foreigners were liquored up and totally high and almost stark raving mad. So amusing. They made for a very rowdy train ride down.

Something's happened. I can't talk about it now. Not here. Maybe my close friends will know. But i have to be strong now. For those around me. Things are going to get harder from here.

I haven't said anything yet, cos i don't wanna ruin my friends' day. We've had enough going on this morning and i don't wanna add more of my own stuff on. My other friends have their own issues (please take care), and some of them have their hands full being concerned about them le.

The last thing they need is someone new to be worried about. It's just bad luck this had to happen now. It never rains but it pours, doesn't it? Already val says she's a lil tired from worrying about these two. Ironic though she doesn't know what's going on, she told me not to emo too cos people seem to be doing it in succession.

So, i shall try my best. I'm still not ok but i'll try my best to be. For the good of all of us. (Except the ones who are dead.) Haha. Inside joke. Sigh.

Incidents like these only undermine our relationships, and are not good for anyone. Look on the brighter side of life.

I hope i can try to spend a happy holiday with my friends. I miss you all. God knows i need the companionship. This burden is weighing down on me. But i try to carry on.

Maybe you all will know eventually what's going on. For now, i just don't want to add on to everyone's troubles.

Hello back! Nothing much today. Reviewed some lesson plans. Booked out at 4pm, went got dinner, and got Zoukout tickets from YM. Hmm. Went home, got online. I always scare myself at home. I immerse myself totally in FB, then I suddenly panic that I've stayed past my 'welcome' then look at the clock to see that I still have some time, and my heartbeat drops.

I need to take a look at my bank book. I'm very good at telling people what to do and locating their major money outflows. Now it's time to get to work on myself too. Oughta work. Physician, heal thyself. Lol! I'm much more money-conscious now and when I was young, compared to the foolish youths I read about in the papers today. =.=

Now, I spend a lot more, but at least I can still support it, and I can try to curb it. I spent a lot less as a kid, and kids now just don't know the value of money. They spend like it's free and most do not even save. =.= Smart. Their parents seem to not bother either. I want a car. I will work towards a car. Money is key. =P

Tomorrow:5km run. Should be interesting. Maybe can lose weight. Lol! Going out with Rainnie and Ben in evening, and joining my friends for a late night movie. Sentosa on Sat! =D

He bit into the bun, and the taste of bread and salmon flooded his mouth. Chewing, he savoured the crunchy batter of the salmon patty and the juicy meat. The familiar taste of salmon brought back fond memories of the time spent at Ikea, the hours studying there, the salmon meals, the lunches with friends, the time he watched the sunset while mugging, the immediate hours spent after getting the 'A' level results.

The simple taste of something familiar can bring back such evocative moments.

Hoho I am so glad I stay so near camp...so I can finish uploading the rest of the chalet pics! Hahas! =P They'll be coming up soon. I'm in the chalet now. Today's outcamp hike was fun. Lol. Our OC praised us for it, so it's good. =] Had lunch with the guys at the hawker centre before going home to pack and leave. I took a few photos, may upload tonight.

OMG the internet here totally sucks. On-off. Just typical of free-for-all networks outside. But I expected better. The last time I came here for a chalet, the net was pretty good. Dammit. Impossible to use Messenger, ebuddy has got some anal "Apache" server error, and webmessenger is taking ages. FB is intermittent, and everything is slow. F-ed up.

Home again! and I'm staying home cos we're going for the Outcamp Hike tomorrow. I'm one of the guides. Some interesting things have happened. Did my first CDS duty, nothing really interesting but was damn scared I'd screw up. I messed up a bit marching towards the flag raising, so we samula'd. Cookhouse is anal. =.= You have to meet exactly the amount of rations indented, and if you overshoot by ONE, you DIE. Sign EXTRA. But I somehow slept really well in the office last night. ^^

In the army, you don't need to worry about your first time being the last, but rather the first of 3 more times. Lol!

Then I also went for IPPT. And I got my silver. Haha! Yes! $100 more. Lastime I missed it by one pull up, but ow I managed to get it. And my running worsened after going to SISPEc. =.= But my training in gas masks has paid off, and I've almost returned to BMT levels. What they say is true: When you go to 39th, fail becomes pass, pass becomes silver, silver becomes sold, and sometimes fail becomes gold.

Also...my silver nets me an extra $100 which effectively pays off my Audio Technica ATH-FC700 headphones with spare pocket change. Ka-ching! Instant gratification. An early X'mas present to myself! Hoho. Plus, I've just checked out its reviews. Nice. I've made a good buy. I heart my headphones. =P The sound quality's great, clear and crisp, the bass is good, noise cancellation is up to standard, and I'm hearing stuff I never heard before in my songs! ^^

I'm bringing it along to the outcamp hike tomorrow. Folds up, so very portable. =] Going to chalet tomorrow evening. I'll have to pack my bags. Lol. I had a weird dream the other night. I apparently had ORD'd and gone to NUS. I went into my room, and found one of the double decker beds we have in camp at the side of an orange coloured room.

I unpacked all my stuff, and walked around a bit. I came to a balcony, and saw lots of passageways and walkways and pillars and walls and stairs. Then, the lights started going off one by one. Part by part the entire panorama was engulfed in irregular shards of darkness. I hurried back to my bed before it got pitch black, and saw a security room. A finger pressed the 'shutdown' button, and all the lights went off at once. I saw my bed just before the lights off timing, but the light was still on.

I went to it and lay down, but the light was still on. I satu p and realised that there was a blackboard covered in formulas at one end of the room and a professor in black was teaching to an empty room. Confused, I realised I was sleeping in a lecture room, and grabbed up my stuff and hurried to a corridor which I figured must lead to my room. Before I reached it I woke up.

Anyways those joining for my chalet, let me know when's the earliest you guys wanna come. =] the earlier the better, so we can have more fun together. I wanna watch Bolt. And we can do plenty of stuff at the Ehub... =D

Oh yes...pict0rz! I'm going to bring a camera tomorrow! This blog desperately lacks pictures. Let's see what I can get. =P I miss photography and posting pics.

Whew. Today went for the recce. It was fun. Haha. I think either I haven't been to Mt. Faber before, or if I have, I've forgotten. It's quite nice. =] Lol. Did some admin, left in the afternoon. Got a little misdirected but made it there ok. Went for a 9km walk. Very tiring. =X Sweated a lot. Lol. Henderson Waves is cool. So is the treetop walk. Alexandra Arch looked nice, but was a bit of a let down. Probably looks a lot nicer at night. The Garden Terrace is very nice too. Nice place for photo taking. Someone ought to come find me on Fri. I should ask the rest along. =P

Everyone slept the whole way back. Lol. It rained pretty heavily, but stopped at about 6 plus so we made our way out to JK for dinner. Went home via LRT. I've got duty and IPPT tomorrow. I hope I can get silver...my running not very good. ><
