Again; gaming. Oh well. Nothing much else I guess. =\ Game just crashed so I figured that I might as well come blog for a while or something. Probably going out for a movie later. Lol.

Okay. I am bored. Spent the whole day watching my sister play her games online, and then playing my own games online. Rawr. I want to go out...
"No matter what I do, just ensure I keep my clothes on." - Dylan
"To me, clothes means underwear only, you know?" - Eddy
So, after a whole day of killing monsters and facebook, I went down to Zouk for some non-digital fun. Was only 5 mins late which was quite amazing to me since I was playing online till I forgot to eat dinner. Haha. But damn, spent a lot of money last night. =[ Since I was last to arrive, never mind, I picked up the cab fare of about $7. Then $25 entry. And...let's not forget $72 for the 3x Flaming Lambos for Dylan, Eddy and myself.
Oh well, but I had fun. There was me, Dylan, Eddy, Kenneth Chua, Eric, Benjam, and more of the EOD guys. went around from Phuture to Mambo and back again. Lol. Vodka Supernova is quite nice. So was the Lambo. Eric got us 2 jugs of Long Island. I whacked quite a bit of that. Heheh. Didn't get smashed, but it was quite a pleasantly intoxicating night.
They left at 3 plus, presumably to get cabs, but actually even if you leave at 4 you still can get cabs. There's a whole stream. Lol. I think Eddy seriously got smashed since this is only his 2nd time. Hope he's alright. Somehow he left by himself and msged us to say he was leaving. Oh and so many people stepped on my shoes last night...rawr. Freakin dirty now. White too. =.=
"We are so going to get smashed tonight!"

It was just another normal day. The good wizard Kaelfryn was whiling away the time killing the Megalopas and Crabs at Sigia Port, and simply minding his own business. Suddenly out of NOWHERE, a huge mass of scarred grey shell and barnacles appeared in his face. A Giant Megalopa, he thought. Giant referring to the particular subspecies that grew to more than 10 times the size of the original.
A jagged spike of fear shot through him, and his first instinct was to run, even though he knew death was the only eventuality in this case. The Giant could easily catch up to him in a few steps. He felt the adrenaline coursing through his veins, sending his pulse spiraling to new heights as his heart pounded furiously. If i'm gonna die, at least I'll go down fighting, he thought.
He instinctively hit the panic button, going into Berserk mode, or Zerk, as it is more commonly known. His character grew larger, engorged with power, complete with devil's horns and a hellish red aura. Retreating to better engage the beast, he backed off a few steps, his mind reminding him he might not survive this encounter. Of the previous times he had tangled with this creature, he had often come the worse off.
He executed the first steps of a plan he had come up with in his mind, praying that it'd work, and praying for his life. He hoped that whatever gods there were up there, there would be one with a craving for crabmeat, or at least a mild dislike for Megalopas. Casting Lighting Shock, he released a large burst of electricity into the air, striking terror into the heart of the monster.
Taking advantage while it was still recovering from the shock, he cast Fire Blow, burning the monster severely 7 times with each hit of the flame. Then he performed Charged Wind, electrifiying the air around it and striking the monster multiple times and knocking it further back from him, so he was out of reach. He cast Snow Wind, freezing a large area around the monster.
The monster collapsed and fell onto the ground, lifeless. His jaw dropped.
My day was alright. Nothing much happened apart from me killing a Giant almost my level unaided in-game. Considering I'm a wizard with a rather meagre amount of life it was quite a stunning victory. Also spent part of the day on Facebook. Lol. Going out now. Might update later I guess.

For you a thousand times over.
I'm out! surprised? Haha. Well so was I too. spent a total of 12 hours in camp today. Arrive at 630. Course closing ceremony was pretty cool. Got a certificate and one badge. So awesome. =] As Eric said, gesturing to the badge: Pride, man. This is pride. Did area cleaning. Spent the whole day doing stores. Returned all the innumerable stores we had. Really amazing how many items we have.
We were called to gather in the lecture room where,
"I gathered you all here to clear your leave."
-Stunned silence-
was the first thing that happened. Wow. Seriously, we did not see that coming. So I got 3 days leave which I am supposed to blow just like that without any choice because they want to synchronise leave. Synchronise leave. Like our leave is the contacts in your Blackberry that you just want to "synchronise" with your PC. =[ I wanted to take leave during xmas period!
The way they threw it at us you'd expect we have weeks of off days stored up. Just blow everything at one shot. I envy those with 6 days, but I'm luckier than those with 2 because They have to return on Friday. Sort of take a break from your break. Ha-ha.
So...I'm off from Wed to Fri, going zouk on Wed evening, other than that I'm free. So anyone is free to ask me out. Or else I'll be inclined to stay at home and pulverise monsters with my insane wizardry till my brain implodes. I need to save money. =[ And I'm growing fat. Rawr. Finished The Kite Runner. Awesome...very nice and well-written book. Harsh and sad, but good. Emo too, to put it bluntly. But a very good book. =] Gonna read The White Tiger. Sounds promising. The author's first book, and he won this year's Man Booker prize.
Called tak today too. Seems ages since I had a really long phone conversation with my friends. Maybe we can do it again sometime soon? I miss those times. Haha. It made my day. Reminds me of the past. We all simply have to go out together and just sit down and chill without a care in the world. Have the whole day to ourselves. That'd be nice. Whenever I get to speak to my friends it's just great. I'm in a good mood today. =]Labels: book out

Today went for course cohesion. Was late tohugh. Considering I'd been around half on Singapore on two wheels for most of one night, then slept 3 hours and watched 2 movies the flowwing day, racking up a total of 9 hours of sleep the last two days, it was no wonder I switched off my alarm and went back to sleep.
I was dead to the world till they called me at 1120. Rushed out of the house, (thank goodness I had the foresight to pack my bag the day before) and met them at 12 plus. Was quite alright I guess. Food was not bad. They played volleyball, soccer and frisbee. I didn't participate much, I guess I was still slightly stoned. Lol. But we had fun.
After that it started to rain, quite literally on everyone's parade, and they started packing up. Went home, played Silkroad for a while. Booking in tomorrow 7am. Well at least I get to spend a night at home. =]
-Yawn- Pretty tired. =\ Sat went to get a brand new powerful comp, and went night cycling again. Truly an epic journey. Possibly over 100km. From Kovan-Old Tamp Rd-Ikea-Pasir Ris-MJC-White Sands-Loyang-Changi Naval Base-Changi V-SAF Ferry Terminal-Changi Coastal Road-Some Leadership Camp-Western East Coast Park-Eastern East Coast Park-Marine Parade-Xiwen's House-Still Rd-Eunos-Galvyn's House-Hougang-Kovan-Behind Taky's House-Kovan Macs-END. It was the same route I took with tak the last itme we rented bikes at Pasir Ris.
Cycled from 2345 to 0605 the next morning. Damn fun. Changi Coastal road was creepy. The forest was totally pitch black. A monsoon drain cut across the path, and looking straight into the forest side, you saw a vast empty void of perfect darkness that seemed like the end of everything. Encountered few other bikers. Fun but you'd have to do this with friends.
Slept 3 hours, and went to meet Ben and XW and Val at PS. They say I looked stoned. Lol. Tak couldn't make it. =[ I think mugging has taken over your life. Lol. Watched Nights in Rodanthe. Suddenly I am interested in Nicholas Sparks' novels. He has a penchant for doing in people after he's got you into them and into the book. Lol. Val blames me because I didn't want to watch High School Musical, so they ended up crying. Happily-ever-after doesn't work its Disney magic quite so well on me, I'm afraid. Life is a lot more complicated than that.
LAter after they all left, I stayed back to watch Tropic Thunder along with Siwei and YM. Ok I guess, it was pretty funny. But for some reason, I didn't laugh as much as others. Maybe being in here has somehow deadened my sense of humor a little.

TA-DAH! My new badge. so nice. =] Of all the thousands of guys in my April enlistees batch, only a small number of us specialists have this. I'm so proud of it. And myself. =]
This week was alright, not as scary as expected. Seemed to pass quite fast though. Lol. Got activated twice in a single day as I was in 2 forces. =[ Alpha Team Commander in the 2nd one too. Luckily my friend noticed this so he gave me an easier job in the first activation. Was quite alright. Today was also activated, but didn't do too much as the first team decided to tank their way through. Got our badge today. =] Finished Pet Sematary. Was disturbing and quite extreme but a very very good book. Reading the Kite Runner now. Also very fantastic. Moving and very raw, some parts make you wince, but you can't put it down. Very nice. Can't wait to read the rest of it. =]
[UPDATE]
OH gawd no. My PSP is broken. I think. F**k. WHY. AGAIN. I like technology but it always f**ks up on me. I don't know why. Now I have to go back to the store and check on it again. Sigh. I don't even know if they'll send it for repair. It's been what? 7 or 8 months since I bought it. Frick. The orange light doesn't turn on when charging, and I can't turn it on. ARGH. And it was charging just moments earlier. WTF.

Hello, I'm back here again. Haha. Today was quite alright. Rained quite a bit though. Spent time in bunk waiting for it to clear. Force 1 was activated today. Went down to watch a bit of it. Was reading Stephen King's Pet Sematary. It's dead good. Haha. One of his creepier books I've read and it really gets under your skin. It also gets horribly sad at once point and that sadness increases along with a certain grotesque quality that makes your flesh crawl.
Other that that today was quite uneventful. I was lucky enough not to get activated today but tomorrow...I'll be holding two roles. Today's appointment in one force and also...Alpha Team Commander. =X I hope I don't get activated twice...even though there's a decent chance of that being so. Nevermind...I shall try my best to be up and do my best here.
Though I have confidence, it's going to be a little tricky as I haven't held this appointment before and I'm sure to slip up...I'm a little nervous and i'll probably be kan cheong too...but still I'll give it my all. Keep my cool, and who can blame me for giving it my best shot? Tomorrow's a big day. =]
Anyway this weekend is a little confusing lol. been a while since I had so much stuff going on. Feels kinda like the old times, only it's a not so fun part of it cos I gotta juggle everything. Originally, I had nothing on Sat, course cohesion on Sun, and I needed to meet Eliza on Mon, AND outing with the old M gang on Mon too. But now, they last minute changed the cohesion to Mon, so I had to choose between my close friends and my group of 36 coursemates. =X
Distilled to its essence, it was basically a question of quantity over quality, and it was quite a headache. =[ In the end I shifted the meet with Eliza to next weekend, and the M outing to Sun (hopefully), so hopefully everything goers off smoothly. =] Ah...don't think I have much to say left. Hmm. wish me luck for tomorrow I guess! -Crosses fingers-

In mess. Had exercise training today. Was quite fun being commander. Quite an experience. Also lucky I had quite good people under me that can be trusted. Up as they would say. Was quite uneventful I guess, made some mistakes but nothing too serious. only 3 days left! I hope we don't get slaughtered "when the horns come out". I hope tomorrow I won't be actiated again, it was quie tiring and I need some rest. I was so happy when I finally finished and got to lie on my bed lol.
None of the people are replying me on MSN. =[ Win lor....bleah. Bored. I come all the way here to go online and there's noone to talk to. Maybe I shoulda stayed in. Hah. Oh well, weekend's coming, I guess.

"Eh, wait, water break." Shawn said, as he slowed down on his bike.
K went on by to catch up with YM who didn't hear this, and they slowed down in front. Siwei stopped beside them.
"Water break." K said.
"Where's my water?" questioned YM.
"Ya, where's my water?" Siwei added.
Thinking Shawn had brought their water bottles since he declared the water break, K pointed to Shawn behind them as he drank from his own water bag.
Shawn coasted to a stop just behind them with a quizzical expression on his face.
"What? I got no water."
K spat out the water in his mouth and began laughing.
Went night cycling again. All the way from Kovan to Outram with Shawn, YM, and Siwei. It was fun. We practically followed the NEL down to Little India, and then somehow into town, Fort Canning, Chinatown, and Outram. Saw lots of stuff you'd never normally see. Streetwalkers, the sexually confused, crazy bare-chested shouting men in the middle of the road, a little old man sitting at the side of the road smelling of feces.
One thing we did was that we stopped at a traffic island at a junction to repair YM's seat which was slanted, and we had to tighten it with a spanner. After that they decided to go for a biscuit break. =.= So you see 4 guys with bikes stopped at a traffic island, two of which are munching on packets of biscuits.
Oh and then there was a really INSANE slope at Fort Canning which we coasted down at a really CRAZY speed. It was fun and insane. Luckily there were no cars lol! And then the most funny part.
The 4 guys stopped at the traffic light, waiting for it to turn green. They noticed behind them, two other night cyclists, dressed for the occasion with gloves and expensive bicycles. Then, from the right, a really pretty girl dressed really nicely walked by, and waited to cross another road perpendicular to theirs. (What she was doing there at a semi-business area at 1am defeats me.)
"Eh...go ring the bell la," whispered YM to Shawn.
"What the hell...hahaha..." They started giggling.
"Ok." TRRRING-TRRING! The shrill sound of the bell pierced the night, igniting laughter from the cyclists. Even the two strangers behind them got the joke and started stifling their laughter. The light turned green and they sped across the junction, still tickled at the absurdity of the situation.
After we reached Kovan, we went to the Macs there to have breakfast at 4AM. I miss that place. I still remember how much time I spent there. Preactically days...lol! Slept till 1pm and then went home.

"Ok, simulate a window (here). You can peep into the room." said my officer, opening the door just a little bit to allow the fully suited-up responder to see in. We were on our first exercise, where we'd be tested on our drills in an activation. Sticking his head around the door, the team commander surveyed the sitation quietly. All around him, complete silence from the Ghosts/shadows who tagged along to watch the operation. They all had been inside to look at the problem, and analyse the matter at hand.
The team commander turned his head a little to the right to look further in and finally caught sight of the source of the dangerous radiation. The next thing to happen was a tirade of incomprehensible semi-muffled Hokkien from his mask. The general meaning of it was: Oh my god! What the hell is this?!
Had our exercise this week. Was quite alright I guess. Problem was, I was activated at 1130 on a frickin' HOT day with not a cloud in the sky and I was asked to wait while my commander did a recce of the site. I was slowly cooking in this horrible suit made of of all things, plastic. Trust me, no matter how futuristic our society becomes, plastic will NEVER be a material of choice for everyday apparel. =.=
I waited there there for a while, then pushed my trolley with our equipment to a tiny bit of shade where a tree overhung the road. It was as hot in the shade as outside. They radioed me in, and I made my way there. I did everything fine, but then I was requested to perform a task that had my back exposed to the merciless sun for quite a few minutes. I tried to perform to the best of my abilities but I was feeling really fatigued and unconfortable.
I did the barest minimum of my tasks to get my team out of the site before I gave in. Ironically as I walked back I saw the skies turn grey. Perfect. My friend said I was red as a lobster when I emerged, which was not surprisingly considering I just experienced the human equivalent of boil-in-a-bag meals. I half expected minor charring of the skin. =.=
But omg I fell out. Of my own volition too. The last time something like that happened was in field camp when I dug my stupid shellscrape till I hit 39.6 degrees. I believe I was at the door to La-la land already because I was lightheaded and feeling slightly delirious and had a subtle sense of glee at attaining a never-before-reached temperature.
"Eh? Wah...39.6 ar?" I pointed out to my friend. "Haha so cool...I never get so high before. I wonder can go higher or not...?" was the gist of what I said. Anyway, after that some of us had a bad headache for almost 2 days and I figured our brains were a nice crispy golden-brown by now, or maybe they had already been stewed in our cranial juices. But, such an ignominious thing to do. I was the only one. I can blame the weather, but I was the only one. Later in the week my officer commented on one activation running so long until some of the members actually starting drinking water. He seemed to have thought almost everyone seems to had just tanked all the way,and finished everything with 2 hours.
Why me? Rar. Stupid weather. Sigh. =.= It has a psychological effect on you you know. It's almost shameful. Sigh. Maybe if I have held on a bit more. Why didn't I? The clouds would have gathered. Maybe if I'd gone through with it all the way. Maybe if I'd pushed just a little bit further. Just a little bit more. So many maybes. The shadow of the post-activation headache haunts me. What is this? A crisis of conscience? Or fears of being looked down upon? Why did I give in?
Rest of the week I didn't do much, just observed the exercises. Quite alright, I guess. Being a Ghost is a fantastic feeling after having been activated. You can 'fly' around and observe things, go almost anywhere and move unencumbered. I was put on standby on Friday. Subconsciously trying to redeem myself, I placed a chair a the door, put all my equipment around me, and planted myself there for almost the whole day. I went out to observe activations, but then I returned to my seat after to wait.
It was a nice place. From his seat he could see the tops of the trees gently waving in the breeze and the clouds in the sky above. It was peaceful. Leaning his head against the door, slowly but surely, K fell asleep. He awoke later in the afternoon, by some strange instinct, and saw someone in green (uncommon since everyone was in black now) walk by.
He saw the chevrons that denoted a first sergeant. Turning to the left, he saw the white polo tee of his officer. Waking up fully, he rocked back in his chair and a grin plastered itself across his face. As he walked by, K nodded to him with a casual "Afternoon, sir." from his post. He walked on by down the corridor.
A few seconds later, K heard "TEAM 5 ACTIVATED!" from another bunk. "TEAM 5 ACTIVATED!" he yelled out. "POOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHH!!!" The sound of someone mimicking a siren wailed. Down the corridors, similar noises were heard from suitably bored Ghosts who were not on standby today.
The commander of Team 5 who was playing Chinese chess in K's bunk rushed out frantically to get his things. "Porh liao porh liao porh liao!" Team 5 hurried down the staircase as the assorted Ghosts yawned, scratched their head/ass, climbed out of bed, or rose from their chairs to file down the stairs to watched the activated. Just another day of our exercise.
"The more ready you are, the more I won't activate you. The less ready you are, the more I will activate you. I WILL catch you off-guard.[grins]"
-LTA Johnny
I didn't realise it was possible to pray so much in the toilet until your team is on standby. Sitting on the ivory throne, you become aware of how incredibly vulnerable you are at this moment if the activation and the human-made sirens were to go off. Ah, but Friday was interesting.
At 1730, we heard several rumors spreading faster than a fire started by a thunderflash thrown into dry grass. There would be 4 activations, 2 more, and some would be repeated. There would be 2 new teams formed on a whim. Then, our officer called everyone out onto the corridor. From the ground floor, he sternly told us to make sure everyone was there. A frantic headcount ensued. Then he gave us our orders. Fall in 1800 in civvies.
A wild yelling and cheering spread through the ranks as we ran into our bunks an began packing. Wild cries of "POOOOOOORRRRRRHHHH!" were heard, along with "Civilian Team Alpha activated!" We rushed down to realise the book in/book out IC had neglected to fill in the file with more forms, and it had run out of paper. He went to bathe instead of doing so, and now he had to run to the office to get more paper. We were delayed by 45 mins.
SBC. Simply Bo Chap is what he is. He can sleep anywhere and everywhere and he sleeps anywhere AND everywhere. When observing activation, in the lecture room, when our officer is talking to us in the bunk. ALL sorts of places. How is it possible that a human requires so much sleep? Is he just lazy?
2 weeks ago, he neglected to fill in the date and time of our book in/book out file, and we all got punished by booking in 2 hrs early.
1 week ago, he brought home the bunk keys and only realised it at 10pm. We left at 6pm. 4 hours late, he found out. He was roundly reprimanded for that and made to book out late.
This week, he was given 1 WEEK to get paper for the file since he discovered it last Sunday, but NOOOO, he had to wait till late Thursday and make us all late. Maybe we should dump him into one of our 300 litres waste container, screw the cap on tight and toss it into Seletar Resevoir. =.= Oh well, what do I care? I'm outside and that's all that matters. Haha!
I realised something this Tuesday night. It's about perspective. There's something nice about two people looking at the same thing from different faraway places, because it makes you feel maybe the world isn't so big after all. And that long impassable gaps become short distances. 1 year and 4 months? Time will fly.Labels: NS

In mess again. Lol. We have Cohesion Night. They're playing pool and foosball. To the people here it's a sort of religion, the god of which is the little plastic figure. Haha. There's supposed to be a lot of food. But for me, the main draw of the Mess is the computer as it allows me to maintain my connectons to the world outside.
Today we had our exercises, but I guess I got lucky and didn't get any too-stressful appointments. Lol. Quite alright though, but it's going to continue all the way to next Friday and I can only hope I don't get it too hard. Lol.
Cannot wait for the weekend as per usual. Wishing for the weekends makes time pass faster, I feel. Already it's been 6 months. Do I complain a lot? I haven't been smsing my friends recently. =\ To use a bit of slang, like that also can tell ar? =X I dunno. So far I'm alright I guess, just that sometimes I think about this kind of things.
I'm generally okay most of the time ba. Even my old posts also don't really reveal any angsty, emo, self-mutilating, baleful undercurrents.(Okay, maybe about the proliferation of positively vicous bloodthirsty moquitoes at times.) Lol! Sometimes when I'm in a mood ba. I'm a free spirit! It's just not me! =P Lol.
Ah well, just two more weeks to go before I'll pass out of course and finally see a change in lifestyle. Maybe a new environment is all I need. Rah.Labels: NS

In mess again! Haha. Today we had something like an exercise. Quite alright I guess. But I only was in the teams once. The other time I was a "driver" and a Ghost. Lol. Ghosts can only observe but cannot influence the operation. Tiring, but it's only for a short period, so it's not too bad. I think I got a little dehydrated cos I kept sweating non-stop in my MOPP4 and I drank a lot of water later.
Overall not too bad but I hope tomorrow won't be a killer. I had to go and decontaminate myself so I turned out wet all over but at least it was the last operation so I got to bathe after. Managed to read a bit of To Kill A Mockingbird.Labels: NS

Literary delights! This is the first place I've come to where I actually see a substantial number of the people read. A disproportionate number are cadets...but never mind about that. Maybe people in our vocation are also natural bibliophiles? Before, hardly anyone did read, so I never brought any books after a while.
But here, thought-provoking tomes on religion, fast-paced historical thrillers, and glorious stories of ages old conquest abound, along with advice from modern day sages on investments. All this compelled me to pick up reading again and stoked the fire of literature in me, which was previously unceremoniously pissed on by BMT.
This has stoked the craving for fine/famous literature in me, so I went to the library yesterday and borrowed To Kill A Mockingbird and The Kite Runner. I also borrowed Pet Sematary to satisfy the side of me that derives simple pleasure from reading. This should keep me busy for a while.
When I'm done with them, I shall visit the library for more. I was deeply mortified at being unable to find Waiting For Godot. In case the library fails me again or tragically burns to the ground in a pile of smouldering ashes, I still have a 2inches hardcover Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility to last me for a while. Any one has any nice books to recommend? I have a sudden penchant for reading renowned works. =/
Anywya after the class outing I went to YM's house. Shaw,n YM, and the twins came back from cycling bearing gifts. Apparently they went to Pasir Ris and the Xin Wang HK Cafe there and signed up for membership, and cajoled a bottle of wine as a free gift. =.= I wasn't in a drinking mood, but when I took a sip I regretted it. =.= Everyone concluded that it was horrible and we poured the cheap red down the drain.
Went up to bedroom and sat there and reminisced about our past, aided by some old relics. A rather murky chapter 4 years ago. Politically incorrect now, but back then we were young and reckless. And not to mention foolish. But we had so much fun. Hehs. We played a video from the class chalet 4 years ago. Shaky and with about the same kind of cinematography as Cloverfield. How everyone has changed. Everyone looked so kiddy.
Had breakfast the next morning, slacked and watched YM play WarHammer online. Had a pointless discussion on where to go that resutled in no conclusion and cycled home.Labels: book out

Nothing special for today actually. Had a quarrel with my mother in the morning. About the bikes. My dad asked her to tell me to bring the bikes back from my friend's house. Does he even ride it in the first place? I have more urgent things to do. Why do I leave it there for so long? Do I look like I even have a choice? =.= Why do I like leaving my things at my friend's house? Hello? I. DON'T. They're MY things. Of course I want them with me. WHAT THE HELL? That's MY bike, with MY headlight and MY pretty suspension. MINE. MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE!
I don't need this kind of shit especially during my weekends which are short enough already. I don't you to come and ruin what time I have outside. I'm 19. I know what I have to do, and how to go about doing things. Everything in its own time. Sometimes I don't know what the heck is she thinking. Every time I book in I'll be on a specially short fuse so it's best not to provoke me. It's a nice place you know, but I'd rather be, oh, you know...OUT HERE?
Anyway class outing was alright. 14 people came. Had dinner at Pizza Hut and walked around a little and had ice cream. In fact, I'm going over to YM's house now to stay over and bring the bikes back tomorrow morning. YOU HAPPY NOW?
Nah actually I'm ok now. Lol.Labels: book out, NS
The weather was fine. A nice, bright sunny day, with nary a cloud in the sky. The sun was up and shining brighter than ever, the sky was a brilliant blue and the road ahead was covered in a thick mist that raised the humidity. Perfectly horrible weather to go for a 4km stroll in a nuclear, biological , chemical defence suit. YAY! I passed my CFT.
I did run a slower timing than the trial test, but that could be attributed to the really hot weather. This week has been alright. Ran out of food though, because of the really boring lectures. =[ Then drove the PET a LOT. FUN. =] I love it. Haha. But things are gonna get scary next week. I have lots of exercises coming up. Just endure through 2 more weeks!
Going for class outing tomorrow evening. Was going to go cycle but I I guess my other friends don't want it in the morning. Doing the ocurse tee for our course also.Labels: NS

Anyway I passed my CFT which is fantastic, but the weather was good to us that day. Clouds! Blessed shade. =D Ok, better get back to work. Gotv a test to study for also. =[ It seems freakin' hard. Wish me luck. =]Labels: NS

"Eee...shellfish!" Shawn exclaimed with exaggerated disgust as a plate of the prawns was served to our table, expressing his distaste for aquatic creatures with shells.
"Prawns lah, chee bye!" shot back YM, disdainful of Shawn's dislike of this wonderful treat.
"Actually, I think prawns are actually crustaceans..." K said drily, taking a sip of his longan juice.
Today I got an e51. At least I have something fun to play with now. That half the army has. They should give it to every new enlistee as part of the welcome hamper. Haha! The Samsung's radio is busted and it sometimes spazzes on me. It locks up totally and every button I press doesn't work.
Later let the phone charge and went bowling with Shawn. Quite crappy today. =[ Later went home and settled some stuff, and waited for shawn to come. Cycled to Ym's house, then to Chomp Chomp in a convoy of 3 for Exercise Supper. Sweated a whole lot all the wya to his house. Lol. A lot of slopes.
In the convoy soon-to-be recruit YM lead the way to assault our objective. It was quite fun. Unfortunately as we were reaching the target zone, alpha-3 (shawn) had a critical blow-out on his vehicle, losing his front tyre. Shortly after, alpha-2 (YM) discovered a critical leak in his front tyre, leading to it being out of commission.
We pushed our bikes to Chomp Chomp and had a pretty good meal, then YM decided to call for aid from his dad and sent out an SOS for him to pick us up and load the bikes in his MPV. But his dad refused...because he wanted to sleep. =[ YM says he will remember this for the next time. I proclaimed that we have found the thing that can turn a man against his son. Sleep. Lol!
Because of the long walk back (I have had ENOUGH route marches into and out of camp and around camp already, thank you very much.) we loaded Shawn and his bike into a cab and sent him back, and me and YM's bike. YM cycled back because I wasn't sure how to get back. So we came back to his house this way. Lol. Now they're watching soccer.Labels: book out

In my place, in my place
Were lines that I couldn't change
I was lost, oh yeah
I was lost, I was lost
Crossed lines I shouldn't have crossed
I was lost, oh yeah

HAH. Bookout le. Back to the usual routine. Blog, read blogs, clear mail, surf a little here and there. No wonder life is getting boring. Going out is the only thing that satisfies me. Sigh. I hope I can pass my CFT next week. =X I kinda believe I can do it, but my confidence wanes as it gets closer. Its so exhausting physically and mentally. You have to be strong.
It takes a certain kind of person to put on a gas mask and airtight wintergear and walk 4k in the sun.
If you had told me a month before that you cna conduct a live range within 5 hours and leave in the later morning, I would have said you were f--king lying. Not after today. 1130-1730, pack up and go home. Awesome. It was intense fun. Why do I shoot better in a gas mask? LOL. I got 8 out of 9. ^^Labels: NS

Hello! Lol. I'm at the Mess now. There's internet! Basically we can come here every night when we're free but it's kinda troublesome especially when it starts getting later (and hence closer to lights out), so I only drop by once in a while. It's not bad though. Today ended quite early so i came by. But the vendor here works irregular times =.= so sometimes you can get food, sometimes not.
Tomorrow is book-out day again. Yay! =]
Something interesting I've noticed, everywhere I go where there's internet, guys will log on to Messenger, and in doing so, the program also remembers their e-mail addresses. This is pretty cool because it is, in effect, a virtual guestbook of all the people who have been through these walls and "signed" their name there when they sign in. This computer has a particularly long list.Labels: NS

[UPDATE]
Rar. Spent the whole day rotting at home. Dunno what to do. Didn't go for an intended haircut. Played of all things, Rollercoaster Tycoon. (Yes, I was that bored.) Now I'm going to book in soon. At the most I'll go cut my hair this weekend I guess. Rar. Didnt see Carbon so far this week. I brought a can of tuna for it. Hahaha. Making friends with a kitten isn't so easy as it seems. Maybe this can occupy me for the next few weeks.
[/UPDATE]
Hooray For Public Holidays. Sounds like a song title. Lol! This week so far has been alright. Managed to live through another 4k march and this time I didn't feel so tired at the end. I failed the 2k run after at 15:50, but I hope I can push myself to pass next week. I have faith that I can do it. I know I can if I push myself hard enough. Beyond all limits. My body can take what I throw at it. I just have to keep pushing. Pain is just something to overcome.
But the thing about such unique strenous exercise is that I basically blow my body's thermostat to pieces and my temperature control goes to hell. Just take me out of an air-conditioned room into the sun and I begin sweating profusely, disproportionally to the heat I'm feeling. Its like my body is anticipating a total heat surge again and is pumping out water as fast as it can. I'll begin to feel warm easily.
Today was uber fun. I practiced driving this souped-up golf cart around. It's awesome. There's a S-bend course, reverse parking, and a 3 point turn, like any vehicle course. I was quite sucky at the S bend but after a few tries I got the hang of it. SO FUN! ^^ I also got quite sunburnt. =[ And am kind of tan now. Lol.
I realise I can draw several parallels between different events at different times in my life. That vehicle I learnt today? I just found out my dad knows what it is and has been driving it as part of his job for years. So him in the outside world and me in NS, by some strange quirk of fate, we both know how to drive an uncommon vehicle that is pat of his work and my NS. =\
Today went out with Shawn and Siwei but didn't know what to do. =.= Supposed to meet at 830, but a bit of lateness made it around 9. Reached City Hall at 930. All the shops were closing. =.= Wandered around a bit to esplanade, and back again. This was our most boring night in town. Lol. On the way home I saw a guy walking a girl home. The girl stopped to play with one of the stray cats. Another uncanny parallel/similarity. The only difference now is that the cat ran away. Haha!
Reminded me of my past life though. All the many things. Do you remember the 4 hour bicycle ride from east coast to pasir ris and back? That was indeed memorable. Every time I passed by SAF Ferry Terminal, I would be reminded of it. You said that soon I would be going to that place. And what a difference it would make to my life. With a twinge of guilt, I remember being a smartass and cutting in front of you, and causing you to crash. You were mad at me for quite a while.
I remember when you guys tricked me into believing that everyone was unavailable for some reason or another, and that no one would be there to welcome me back on one book-out. Imagine my surprise when the chartered bus pulled into the bus stop and I saw the 4 of you happily waiting under the shelter, trying to see if this was my bus. That was a pleasant surprise. Some times I lie in bed and think of these things. I don't know whether to laugh or cry, you know.
Remember the times we spent mugging at Ikea? I remember watching the sunset there, and going for meals there after school. We left only when they closed shop. I remember we even went there after getting our 'A' levels. I was so devastated after realising I scored the lowest among us all. But well, someone's always gonna be last, so why not let it be me?
Remember mugging in school? The guard has to chase us out before he had to lock the gate. We stayed back till 9 or 10. Remember going to Wild Wild Wet? We rode the slides and the wave pools until we were totally tired out. What about Sentosa? Where I got food poisoning, and progressively, one after another we got food poisoning. We did have fun for a few hours at least. Lol. I remember spending literally, days, of my life at MacDonalds mugging, SMSing the LCD TV, and eating Big Breakfast at 4AM. I could go on forever.
I remember so many things.
What was I doing one year ago today? I didn't blog but I did so one year ago yesterday. Here are a few excerpts.
Woke up a couple of times in the morning. Was raining heavily. I heard a loud blast of thunder and thought terrorist had struck some random part of Singapore or something. I saw a solid wall of grey outside my window, figured the world was probably coming to an end or something and went back to sleep.
Reminds me of the other day when I was doing my tuition homework. I got one question wrong and I kept cursing under my breath. Galvyn looked at me and asked:
"Are you ok?"
"I'm in this school. Do you think I'm ok?"
"Good point."
Speaking of funny exchanges, there's a funny story BenQ told me about how he failed home economics, and I found it ridiculously funny. Apparently, his partner was an ass and didn't want to do anything, much less clean up the area, so he was the one who did the cooking. After each lesson they'd argue over who was to clean up. So during the exam, the teacher said: "I'm going to fail both of you if you don't clean up your bench in 5 minutes."
They spent the next 5 minutes arguing
But now for more humor.

Scene: Shawn and I enter a coffee house to sit and waste time and we decide to get drinks. Both of us leave our table and 2 chairs, and go to the counter which is 2 steps away. When I return, I realise 3 girls that have just come in have koped one of ours chairs to their table. I quietly sit down with a grin, wondering what will ensue.
Shawn returns to the table and stands there with an incredulous, annoyed expression on his face.
S: "What the f--k? Where's my chair?"
K: (Burst out laughing) "Uh...I think they took it." (Gestures to the next table)
S: "What? So they think I'm supposed to stand ar?"
The girls hear his outburst and turn around with slightly mollified expressions.
K: (Still laughing, trying to get words out) "No, no, it's not their fault-"
S: "Then my fault?"
K: (Laughing some more) "No, no, not your fault too...it's no one's fault! We left the table there like that..."
S: "Zzz...let's go sit at the computers." [free internet terminals]
K: "Yeah, ok at the computers."
S: "Look like nerds." (=.=)Labels: book out, musings
